GIC condoles the passing away of the industry stalwart Ratan Tata, who is the icon of indian industrial development. He embodied the spirit of India with integrity, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to the greater good.

Tata's goal of creating an affordable car despite the complexity of the project, itself is the best example of his vision. Tata Group had an innovative approach in all industries from salt to costly cars and aeroplanes. 

Tata had a struggling early life, but his hard work prompted him to be appointed as the chairman of Tata Sons in 1991, and held the position until 2012 and again from 2016 to 2017. He was known for his leadership, ethics, and philanthropy. In 2008, he was awarded the Padma Vibhushan, one of India's highest civilian honors. 

He shared that Organisations must stand together with their employees to fight the tough times. Looking at solutions to share the load, give them breaks, and be supportive in whichever way possible is important.

Tata was at the helm of the widely known Tata Group for 21 years between 1991 and 2012. Under him, the group's profits rose by 50 times.

Tata's 66% of income goes to charity. They strive to make the world a better place, so not on the list of the richest to show off.
